ManyHatz Costumes is a company of three people who own and wear many hats for many tasks: Linda Muggeridge, Chad Jones, and Angela Santori. Together, we can design your total custom look, creating and maintaining everything from costumes to wigs, hair, and makeup. All you have to do is tell us who you want to be!
Linda Muggeridge, owner/designer
Linda loves storytelling. In every phase of her varied career, storytelling has been a goal and a joy. In theater, every time an actor inhabits a costume, that wardrobe needs to instantly tell the audience a very short but effective story about that character. Working with the director, the actor, and other designers to make that story as efficently impactful as possible is Linda’s idea of awesome. It is a whole other level of awesomeness to work together with students to use what they are learning in school - history, literature, physics (but don’t ask her to do math!) - to sculpt their look and connect it with the bigger picture and the human experience. Linda’s partners bring that same passion to their work, alongside a wealth of knowledge in makeup and hair design. A plus for our employers is that we all have backgrounds in small theater, so we are proficient in the fine art of making the most out of (almost) any budget!
Apart from costuming, Linda’s professional background includes 10 years as Director of Education for the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Producer of Open House at Hollywood Bowl. She was a founding member of the Mark Taper Foundation’s arts program at Children’s Hospital LA, has worked administrative jobs with The Young Musician’s Foundation and Performing Tree, and costumed for theaters, schools and camps, including: The Hollywood Bowl, Sacred Fools Theater, Theater of Note, LOFT Ensemble, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Idyllwild Arts, Cal Tech, PV Peninsula High, Thousand Oaks High, Glendale High, Sage Harbor High and several middle schools (she drives a lot!) Linda loves her job and her partners and feels honored to be able to translate her passion for storytelling into a career.
Chad Jones, assistant/designer
Chad Jones is a freelance costume designer catering mainly to burlesque, pin up and theatrical communities. As a burlesque and drag performer himself, he understands the unique needs for any individual performer, building custom creations to showcase a performer’s personality.
Previous experience includes three years of teaching costume construction and costume shop etiquette at Idyllwild Arts Academy as well as six years of assisting Linda in productions in Southern California from schools to the Hollywood Bowl.
Angela Santori, Designer: Makeup and Hair
Angela is a California native that has been doing wigs, hair, and makeup for the LA theater circuit for over five years. It started with her love of Halloween as a child. Angela also comes from a salon-owning family, so hairstyling has been second nature to her. Working with Linda has been one of the best experiences and Angela is eager to see Linda’s team grow!
